Lazer Lamps CANNY CAN Interface LED Auxiliary Lighting Controller Direct Connect

The Lazer Lamps CANNY is a CAN interface designed to enable the installation of auxiliary LED lights on vehicles that use CAN communication systems.

It is intended for vehicles where it is not possible to pick up a traditional 12V lighting signal from the rear of the headlamp.

The system works by reading vehicle data directly from the CAN Hi and CAN Lo wires, allowing lighting functions to be triggered accurately.

The CANNY system consists of a CAN interface dongle, a wiring loom, and support through the dedicated CANNY.LZR app.

The interface can be mounted either within the engine bay for quicker installation or inside the vehicle, depending on CAN wire access.

Bluetooth over-the-air synchronisation allows activation, configuration, and updates without removing the unit from the vehicle.

The CANNY dongle features an automotive-standard Molex connector for a fully watertight IP68 connection (IP64 with the optional Contactless Reader) and includes integrated mounting features with cable ties. The supplied wiring loom contains blue (CAN Hi) and yellow (CAN Lo) wires with automotive-grade heat-seal crimps, plus a fused battery positive and ground connection. For users who prefer not to cut CAN wiring, the optional Contactless Reader allows vehicle data to be read without metal-to-metal contact.

The system also provides four programmable output wires, configurable for functions such as high beam, position light, ignition, or reverse, and is compatible with Lazer vehicle wiring kits where output exceeds 1 amp. Activation, configuration, and ongoing updates are managed through the CANNY.LZR app using the device serial number and PIN, giving access to vehicle-specific installation guides, output assignment and testing, and Bluetooth updates when required.
